Standards and limitations
South African assessments use SANS 10400-S:2025 Edition 4 as the current primary reference where requirements can be verified. Historical SABS 0246:1993 and SABS 0400:1990 material is not treated as current compliance authority. International good practice may be informed by ISO 21542:2021. United States assessments require mapping to the applicable 2010 ADA Standards. European assessments require the relevant member state and national building requirements.
